Sacraments

The Sacraments have a visible and invisible reality, a reality open to all the human senses but grasped in its God-given depths with the eyes of faith.

WHAT DO CATHOLICS BELIEVE?  WHY DO THEY BELIEVE IT?

If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith, the RCIA [Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults] is for you! The RCIA is for anyone who wishes to become Catholic or is interested in learning more about the faith. So, whether you are thinking that the Catholic Church may be the place you belong and want to know what it is all about, whether you know someone who may be interested in our faith, or whether you are already a Catholic and want to learn more, come and be part of our RCIA for 2023-24! We meet on Mondays at 7 p.m. in the Christ the King Parish Center beginning Sept. 18th and continue through the year, culminating in the Easter Vigil on March 30, 2024, at which those who are joining the Church are Baptized, Confirmed, and receive their First Communion. It is an exciting and wonderful experience, and if you are thinking about it, or know the name of someone who might be interested, please contact Scott Kroencke, at skroencke@globe-use.com or the Parish Office at Christ the King at 321-4121 or parish@olctk.org.

Remember: Every new thing we learn about God gives us another reason to love Him!

Opportunities for Existing Catholics to take part

Please look over the following list and see if there may be a place for you to be more involved in RCIA:

Sponsors: an active member of the parish who walks with the candidate on the RCIA journey. He/she serves as the candidate’s personal connection to the parish.

Team members/catechists: plans presentations on the various topics of interest to the adultlearners, breaks open scripture with participants on Sunday mornings or works with the children of those considering entering the church.

Prayer partners: make a commitment to hold those in the process in prayer and perhaps even drop them a note letting them know of your prayers.

If interested, or for additional information, contact Fr. Adam

  • Weddings

To be married in the Church is a sign to the community at large that the bride and groom are persons of faith and they wish God’s blessing on their marriage. Your desire for a church wedding should reflect your commitment to your Christian faith and the practice of your religion.
